iPod Touch not updating

I just got an iPod Touch for Christmas and it says I need to update to 2.2 to get the app store. I tried doing this and paid for it. But whenever I try to download it to my iPod, it says I don't have permission.

Here's the error message.

Any idea what's wrong? Is this an error on their side?

Do you have administrator priviliges on your user account?

If you're not sure, go to start > control panel

Switch to category view (found at the top right) and then go to "user accounts"

You should see a list of users for that account, and their privilege settings should be listed under the account name.

Is there a "locked" option on the iPod? Check, disable if there is.

There's only 1 account and it's an admin.

I'm pretty sure I tried turning off the lock one time and it didn't work. But I'll try it again. :thup:

Try a different cable or a different USB port for the cable.

Make sure your firewall allows iTunes internet access.

Okay it looks like it's working now. I looked into the problem more and lots of other people had the same issue. Apparently Apple had a software problem. I'll have to contact support and make sure they charged me for only one download though.
