JASS stands for?

Hi, I'm wondering... what does JASS stand for ? I searched and only find those :
- Java Audio Synthesis System
and
- JavaScript Accessible Style Sheets

And since I don't think it's any of those, I'm asking,

Actually, I don't think it stands for anything.
If it does, I've not heard of it.

I agree, but he could be right considering the WE names maps "Just Another WC3 Map" by default, so it seems related.

IMO, if you look at it, i think that jass is only used on warcraft or maybe other blizzard games. maybe it was especially created by blizzard.

Yes, Blizzard created it for Warcraft III exclusively. It might appear in SC2, but I'd assume they'll give a different name.

Good idea, we should all get together, gather our opinions of what JASS stands for and then, once and for all, vote on it. The name with the most votes = what JASS REALLY stands for, forever.
So that if someone asks in the future, we can all say *Whatever it turns out to be*, and everyone agree and then be done with it.

Either that or someone could contact Blizzard and ask them.

First - it would require the Java framework. Second - Java is crap.
Warcraft was most definitely written in C++.

He is completely right. This came up at Wc3Campaigns, and it was decided that this was the correct answer. This is really a mystery, but, since I first saw the acronym JASS, the JA popped out as Just Another. SS is really what is up for debate.

Doing reverse engineering here dosn' t help much. We can get true answer only from them who named it so. As JASS actually could stand for anything. Though most of people want to hear answer what they like.
There is also mystery about DVD and what it stands for.
