How to know whether a RPG map is really good:-
This breaks up into differetn catagories which are

1. Storyline (15%)
2. Hero (30%)
3. Quest (25%)
4. Terrain (20%)
5. Monster (20%)
6. Cinematic (15%)
7. Item (25%)
8. System (50%)

Total % points is 200%

A good storyline should be unique! It could be a mix of rescuing the world, or solving mysteries

Wind And Cloud RPG V1.5

PROS
This map is full of custom icons and pictures. The GUI interface uses custom design interface. Icons are pretty nice too. This map has many small mini town that sells items.
Some places gives services such as tomes for Heroes to become more powerful.
Apart from that, some towns have different quests. But only 1 or 2.

CONS
Some part of the maps are too plain, just land and water. That is not good...
The ability and command button descriptions uses dark font on a dark background. Bad!
Some of the icons are green in color, this can be seen from Hero inventory as well as
items sold in the shops. They have forgotten to include disabled button icons for it.
Hero possess no natural abilities. That makes the game real dull.
Sometimes when you explore to desolate places, without warning you will be transported
back to your starting point. And then a warning appears. RPG maps shouldn't do this.
They should however move the Hero outside the border of the ban area that requires
them to do something before entering the premises.
Creeps spawn are unpredictable, a gang of them emerge out from nowhere and this makes
training the Hero even harder. Its pretty hard to level up with creeps that you don't know
where abouts of them.
The quest system in this map is amazing. The quest only allows certain hero level to do
the quest. This also means that if the quest requires a high level to do it, you will be force
to level up. The quest level requirement is ridiculously high. And not much quest can be found. Another thing to point out is their Item System. It doesn't allow units to pick up the same category of item such as weapon and weapon. They would need to upgrade their system that enables user to equip many weapons, but only able to use 1 weapon at a time. This makes player life easier if they stumble upon a weapon, they can pick them up and sell them in town for silver/gold/money. A bounty floating text system is not there to show how much money you gain per kills. cinematic of killing innocent people is really annoying. Should be removed.

FINAL LIKLERS OPEN ORPG

PROS
The items in this map is really good. Variety of items to be used and most of them are
dominated by summoning items. The weapons have cool ability such as Thunderclap,
Shockwave and many more. Each specific item gives a specific unique attachment.
The terraining is kinda good, with many realistic building size in different towns.
CONS
The items are way too imbalance because it boost the damage and armour to the extend
of monsters hitting you with low damage. 70% damage reduction (-.-o) It has a max cap
of 600 level for the hero, and within 30 minutes, I reached to level 300 using cheat.
The monsters are way too imbalance. Some of these monsters gang up and beat the hero.
And the monsters drop lots of items. Imbalance. And most of the item drops are the same.
The leveling in the beginning is way too hard without cheat, had to keep on going back to
the fountain of life to heal. And most of the city does not have protectors to push back
the monsters. Some of the weapon attachment is not removed when the item is dropped When hero is picked it doesn't state whether it has ability or not. The moment you
select, its the moment you pick. Thats another bad thing.

PROS
There is a mini tutorial message that guides newbie on how to choose heroes.
One of the tiny great stuff I seen on this map is interactivity. When you select the guard
or a person in the city, they will give some hints on the map area. Such as going to south
has lots of bad guys.
CONS
The hero abilities are based on spell book, which means you will have no freedome to
select which abilities you want to use. Some of the abilities are not as it seems. For
example Omnislash that only hits the same target multiple times (-.-o) Apart from that,
some of the map areas are way too plain, lack of doodads. The creator has to spice up
the terrain abit. Some of the portals are not working correctly. The creeps/monsters are
way too imbalance, they gang up on your hero. There are too many at once. Leveling in
the start is pretty tough, and the hero got killed. Some of the buildings are redundant, and
not in realistic building size. There is a bug with the map, that is one of the gate is left
open and the paladin keeps on killing the gnolls.

What do I judge in most RPG?
8 aspects: Hero, Town, Item, Quest, Storyline, Tutorial, Unique Features

Hero
I look for creators who use import/custom models of Heroes that can be downloded
from websites such as wc3sear.ch or hiveworkshop or wc3campaign. Heroes should have
great custom abilities that suits their attributes.


Town
Town should have villagers, able to interact with villagers, each town has its own unique
feature such as a warrior town have more specialise, powerful melee weapons. Each
town should have a fountain of life and fountain of mana that can help Heroes to recharge
their HP and Mana. A town should also have an arena to battle with people PvP or anything
you can think of. Spice up the town with lovely doodads and realistic building size but
do not over cramp them because it looks awkward.


Item
An RPG should have multiple types of item such as bow, sword, blade, spear, polearm, fan
staff, dagger and others that suits the class you have made. Each item should be given
a cool attachment to the Heroes. A high level item should have an item enchanted with
passive or active abilities. You could have a fusion system that enable players to enchant
their weapon using gem stones, scrolls. You could also upgrade your weapons based on
the recipe system. Some weapons can be perishable such as arrows, and throwing stars.


Quest
The quest should give nice reward, nice items, nice storyline of how to do the quest.
And only allow certain hero level to complete the quest. Make more low level quest but
fewer higher level quest. It is based on their difficulty. Some quests are repeatable, and
some quests leads you to different storyline. Doing a line of the similar quest gives you
a more difficult task to complete. For example, bounty hunter. Help the police to catch
the bad guys be rewarded. Remember to guide your players using the ping on the mini map.

Introduction
For those who are not familiar with the term RPG, here is a short introduction. RPG stands for Role Playing Game, which means creating a virtual player of yourself and start your journey in a big world, a world that awaits for you to explore the unknowns as well as experience lots of cool stuff. You will start off with a fragile character that will soon become a powerful Hero as you gain more experience by slaying monsters and doing quests. Each Hero has special abilities to use in combat as well as to support your party. The map creator should decide what map he should make in the beginning as this will form the flow of how the game-play should be.

Storyline
There are many types of storyline you can make out of. The two types of storyline
that is popularly used in RPG is involved saving someone or perhaps freelancing.

Items
There are 2 types of items you can make for your map: Perishable and Equipment
Perishables are also known as Consume-able items / Summoning Items
Perishables are items that are once used, will dissapear from your Hero inventory
Equipment are items that can be used many times (opposite of Perishable Items)
Equipment are also known as artifacts or tools.
Equipment can be use to boost Heroes attributes (STR/AGI/INT) or give special ability


Equipment Types
Armour: Helmet, Top Armour, Bottom Armour, Cape, Glove, Shoe
Accessory: Earrings, Necklace, Ring, Belt
Melee Weapons: Sword, Blade, Axe, Blunt weapon, Spear, Pole-arm, Dagger
Range Weapons: Bow, Crossbow, Claw
Caster Weapons: Wand, Staff, Fan

Perishable Types
Restoration: Life Potion, MP potion (Pills, Elixirs, Food, Drink, Fruit)
Summoning: Monster Summoning Stone
Wards: Cyclone ward, Sentry Ward

RPG System
RPG requires several systems within its map, and this system makes the game experience
much fun. more fun means more people will play, and word spread around like wild fire,
and your map become an instant hit in many of the popular websites that host maps.

Basic Systems:-
These are the basic system that most RPG should have to create a nice RPG
- Save/Load System (allows user to save their quest progress & others)
- Spawn System (create monster/creep when a creep dies after a certain period)

Advance Systems:-
For those who want an extra edge over the other RPG maps, they could include:
- Creep AI System (enables creep to cast spells/flee when low HP/chase you etc.)
- Pocket Stash System (enable Hero to carry more items instead of 6 items)
- Item Stacking System (enable consumeable items to stack on each other)
- Equipment System (gives restriction to Heroes to only handle specific weapons)

Extra Systems:-
These are extra systems to spice up your RPG!
- Pet System (enables pet to pick up items for you/take you for a ride/etc)
- Sleep System (regain HitPoints HP and Mana Points MP)
- Fusion System (enable user to combine items / scroll items / enchant items)
- Floating Text System (creates text to show damage,spell cast,exp gain, gold gain)
- Game Time System (shows how much time you have spent playing the game)
- Ability System (allow user to learn spell that he likes, not predefined spells in hero)

More details about RPG Systems

Equipment System
One of the most popular system currently used in RPG maps. This system allows Hero to
use a specific weapon to fight monsters. Most of the RPG maps (which can be found in
this forum) that only allows a Hero to carry 1 weapon in their inventory. The Hero inventory
should be converted to a backpack and create a spell book to temporarily store the items
which is currently used.

Item Stacking System
This is another system that enables Heroes to pick up the same item without using up
more than 2 space. It basically adds up the item that the Hero has previously added into
the Hero inventory. For example, i buy 2 HP potion, and the icon will write HP potion +2 and
it only uses 1 Hero inventory space.

Fusion/Recipe Item System
This is another system popularly used in DOTA (Defense of the Ancients). This system
allows Hero to combine a few item to convert it into a more powerful item. Popularly used
with scrolls to upgrade the item. Apart from that, ores/minerals also can be use to
make an item more unique (instead of using scrolls)

Save Load System
This is another system which is widely used in RPG maps. This system allows players to
play their RPG to the point where they stopped in the first place. It is useful for saving
your quest which has been completed. Apart from that, it also saves how much gold lumber
you have stored in your bank or something similar.

Floating Text System
Not many people used this system in their RPG maps, but it definitely spice up the effects
in the game. This system basically creates a text popping above the unit. It is used to
display damage dealt to a unit, spell cast, experience gained, and lots more.
This system can be use to create Advance Chat System. Just add the '-' sign
and write your chat. The chat will pop up above the hero. Reference from:

Game Time System
This system keeps track of how much time you have spent while playing the RPG map.

Ability System
This system allows the Hero to learn any type of spell which he would want to learn instead
of having predefined abilities within a Hero. This makes it much convenient for players who
would want to select some abilities that he likes to use.

Item Type for Specific Hero System
This is another system that is implemented in Age of Myths, which can be downloaded
from this site. This system only allows specific Hero to only able to equip certain item.
For example, if your Hero is a Bowman, he/she can only use Bow weapons, but they can't
use spear, blade or staff.

Pocket Stash System
This is another system that not many people aware of. This system is build within an item.
You can drag and drop items into this Pocket Stash. It has the ability to save 18 items.
So it basically expands your Hero inventory by +18. It can be downloaded from w3campaign
Pocket Stash is an item which Hero carries along. With this item, you will not need to
create another map area for Hero to go in and keep their items or going into a city to save
item into the box.

Pet System
Pet is a great additional to spice up the game! Having a pet gives lots of convenience, such
as picking up item for you and giving to you, carry items for you, gives you a ride, attack
enemies, protect you and so on.

Creep AI System
Makes monster much smarter than before. Able to cast ability on you such as Storm Bolt.
Able to give buff to their enemy friends. Able to retreat when they get seriously injured.
Able to call backup if there are nearby creeps. Able to group up together and fight. Able
to level up (for example, if a creep kills 3 of your unit, he will be replaced with a higher level
unit)

Spawn System
Create creep units in the map in random position after xxx duration. Creep units has
different aggressiveness, some will attack if Hero is within xxx proximity. Some of the RPG
such as Final Fantasy that can be found in maps n mods is totally head aching. After
a couple of walk on the map, I am transfered into another position of the map and battle
monsters. No RPG should ever do that. (-.-o) It is the player choice to whether engage
the enemy if they want to earn experience or not to. And its a waste of time traveling
up and down.

Sleep System
Sleep system is an additional cool system that requires Hero to rest during
the night. If hero does not get enough rest, he will forget the abilities that

Interactivity System
Enable user to select a unit/villager so they can give you some hints on where to go.
Also, creates a floating text message that tells user which map area that you are going
to. And also give some hints whether this map should be travelled by low level Hero or
high level hero.

Item Drop System
When a monster/creep is killed, the system will automatically create an item at the position
of the dying unit, a random item is generated based from the Item Table

This system basically splatters red blood on the floor, as well as tinting/coloring your hero or unit in
red color when they are under attack (making the potrait red in color for 0.5 seconds)

In fact Snp0 me and ayumi start to make an RPG map. It will take like 1 month and 2 weeks and it will be very great. I saw ayumi really complete all my ideas ^_^.

yes, will be a save/load rpg because max. level is 90 or 80, and dungeon boss or raid bosses will be killed only in party because the boss is to powerfull for 1 hero.

I played very much RPG Maps and I can say that only 2 or 3 are very goods, rest are only for nothing ...

I can't say to you much because ayumi is with the abilities in this project. I do the terrain, units (that include heroes) and items.

i have done the stealth assassin (progress 90%)
haven't tested it out yet <3

stealth assassin would have wind walk + command aura
wind walk for the invisiblity attack and command aura for bonus damage.
