Map size

Hello everyone.
I wanted to try my map with my brother but when I host the map it say map size is too big.What can I do:banghead:
Another thing I want to know :
1 mb = ? KB plz

The map size limit is no more than 4 megabytes.

4 mb if you want to play it on battle.net, over a LAN it can be any size.

1 MB ~ 1000 KB's.

Technically I believe it's 2^10, which is 1024.

I've found that the 4 mb limit applies in LAN games as well.
Are you using any custom models? Use a mdx squisher or a map optimizer to make the map size smaller:

All models and icons size together = 24,600 KB

Uhm, that's BIG - you sure you wrote that right??

Definitely squish your models and optimize the map.

With that size, no compression ever is going to help... remove any import that isn't non-essential.

Sort by file size, and delete the bigger more useless files.
I somewhat refuse to believe you imported 1.8k+ files...

Try showing us a screenshot of your import manager.
I once accidentally imported an iso into my map without realizing it until WE started crashing...

The maximum file size Warcraft III lets you use is 4mb.

1mb = 1024kb
2mb = 2048kb
3mb = 3062kb
4mb = 4076kb

You shouldn't ever reach that file size anyways, unless you import music files which take up a lot of space on your map.

1024kb = 1mb
1024mb = 1gb
1024gb = 1tb
