There is a horrible sense of meaninglessness and chaos that comes from the extreme loneliness of being cut off. Judith Lewis Herman, who wrote the definitive book on trauma and recovery, stated that all so-called mental illness and suffering could be seen as a person's misguided attempt to survive trauma. Fear separates, love unites. We all wish to grow to freedom, to belong, to participate. Hatred is like gangrene, shame is deadly. Forgiveness is but a faint hope.

Sandoz began to market LSD in 1947 as a psychiatric panacea, the cure for everything from schizophrenia to criminal behaviour, sexual perversions, alcoholism, and other addictions. During a 15-year period beginning in 1950, research on LSD and other hallucinogens generated over 1,000 scientific papers, several dozen books and six international conferences, and LSD was prescribed as an adjunct of psychotherapy to over 40,000 patients. The current research using psychedelics heralds a reawakening to the magnificent healing possibilities of these now prohibited substances. After over 40 years of repression or oppression, Rick Doblin of Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (Maps), and others are spearheading a more enlightened, less hysterical and terrified approach to the use of these substances. I am participating in what hopefully will be Canada's first government approved clinical trials in 40 years, sponsored and organised by Maps, evaluating MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for subjects with treatment-resistant post-traumatic stress disorder.

Im just wondering where the researchers high when they made this statement?

This is no bullshit. I can honestly say if I had never tripped, I would be in a far worse place right now. There was a big scare about LSD, people saying it could make you go insane, etc., but if it's actually used responsibly, it can cure various forms of psychosis. I can't say I advocate its use as an end-all, be-all problem-fixer for these people, because that isn't the case. And some people are going to take it and be worse off than before because it does, in fact, act as a trigger. People with schizophrenic tendencies who haven't been diagnosed with anything end up taking it and snapping. It's insanely delicate.

But for some people, this, coupled with real therapy, will work. LSD makes your brain work in ways unimaginable to people who have never taken it. It can alter your thought processes. It can incite revelations. People call it a religious experience because that's what it is; you come out of it, and you aren't the same as before. You're at peace because you understand. So for some of these people whose lives are a daily struggle, who feel they have nothing good left, who feel they would rather die than go another day, this should be left as an option.

you say is not a bullshit. well if you not need the LSD anymore and be all right after the treatment, then maybe I can say it does cure someone.

All these years later, still controversial. Even after all the breakthrough studies done on this. They have known since 2008 and earlier that these drugs can help alot. Just freaking sad.
