When I first saw a preview for this, it looked really cheesy. The effects looked kinda crappy and the overall... I don't know. I just didn't like it. Plus, I'm not a fan of the main character's actor. I think he's an idiot.
But then I kept seeing different previews for it and eventually, the idea grew on me. I think I do want to go see this.
I saw this the other day, not really knowing what to expect beyond the basic premise, having never heard of it until a couple of weeks ago.
I was pleasantly suprised, it took the whole comic-book-video-game thing further than I was expecting but it was no bad thing. The plot is straightforward and there's not much beyond it, but I still had fun watching. And the background characters were good too.
I saw the film today and absolutely loved it, this kind of humour gets to me and the excessive references to video games didn't bother me in the slightest (of course!)
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
I'm on a page about incorrect corrections, and spent the better part of like two hours trying to get someone to understand that -5^2 = -25, not 25, and then that post had comments get reposted because that group is self sustaining, and that person was in turn trying to explain what I just explained to them. And I'm taking that as a victory
