>"i dont think the teeth should be so long and randomly spaced at the top."

Yeah, looks a bit weird... but the dentist! :D Lol, I'll fix that when I spent some more time on it.

>"i think you need to change it so you cant see daylight through the otherside."

Actually it's a custom light model. :/ Look at the background, it looks different. I guess I'll use fire if I can't come up with something else. ^_^

>"unless you only see it from the top when your in game"

It's not for a game. ;)

>"also the stuff at the front of the screenie looks messy otherwise keep up the good work."

Yeah, I was going to change it to some kind of path anyway. As I said before, it's (very) unfinished.
Thanks for the feedback!

>"do you spend like 3 hours a day just terraining or something?"

He, he, no. You become faster over time. :D That screenie took me about an hour, since it's still very rough.
Making all those little details is very time-consuming.

Kenito: Sure sure. ^_^

Jindo: Resizing demon heads? I'm not that lazy. :p Thanks. :)

Bored...
Hehe, Ace and Silver was right... not that you need any rep

Note: I could have scaled some trees, but didn't have time :p

After seeing a picture of a Sesame Street Monster?
Hm...

They are certainly terrific, especially the last one.
However, somehow, I can't really help it, but it doesn't have an actual Demon feel to it...
It's more like "Hey, looks interesting. Let's have a closer look..." :p

Although, then again, that might just be the latest trick... to get you there... and never out again...

So... this is all subliminal messaging for us to offer our lives to Sesame Street!?

Noo.....

Nah, he's not gay. ^_^

Yeah, you're not the only one who thinks so. I guess he's too... round. Especially the big, round eyes look rather funny. I'm still searching for another special effect which I can use for them.
Dunno what I'm going to do. >.< Maybe I'll add some spikes to his head.

@ Jo_O: Good shots, but perhaps the small building at the far right could be scaled up somewhat? It doesn't look very impressive for royal lodgings. However, I like the Dalaran tower in the background there. It gives a better sense of "Wow, BIG BUILDINGS!".

@ Zero R.: Sh! Don't let her get away!

@ 2-P: Amazing. Did you know that you are an endangered species? I believe that your classification is Gamerus Feminimus. Your description reads as follows: Rarely seen in the wild, this rare variety of Genus Gamerus is actually an offshoot of Urbanus Feminimus, or your common Mall Rat. Gamerus Feminimus often exhibits great intelligence (unlike its parent genus), but it can be more easily identified by its habit of ACTUALLY USING COMPUTERS FOR MORE THAN MESSAGE SERVICES. This strange mutation has actually made it a part of genus Gamerus, although it still bears some superficial similarities to its parent genus. Some speculate that a random mutation caused the enhanced intelligence of the Gamerus Feminimus, which then caused the entire new species to revert to their current gaming habits to avoid the dreadful specter of BOREDOM.

Did I fool you? :D

Silliness aside, keep up the awesome terrain work. I especially enjoyed one of your scenes that included a realistic waterfall. Unfortunately it was wiped with the site crash, but you have replaced it with some very interesting stuff.

Finally, to make that demon face more convincing, might I suggest working in shadows rather than light? If you could darken those eye points to black pits and then work in other details using darkness, perhaps it would look scarier?

I'm afraid that I am forced to agree with the others about the head shape. His head has enough bumps to give any phrenologist a nightmare ;)... maybe you could make a sort of demonic horn? Like a twisted parody of a unicorn? (Don't look at me like that, guys. If you happen to remember an old game called The Horde you will know EXACTLY what I mean. :p)

Jo_O - looking good but you might wanna put some tree variation in that forest, ashenvale, lorderon summer and cityscape ones work well. also i cant remember the last time i saw any town with a huge bit of paving like that, you might wanna put in something to break up the sameness, a fountain or something just to finish it off.

2-P - second shots much better than the first ones, the head is still bumby though and those eyes are too round, making them thinner would make it more evil looking and less sesame street looking. the front bit leading up to the head is about 100 times better than the mess that was there before. Cocktails anyone?
Great job, looks very cool.

Would look alot better without the sunshine effect on the sky, in my opinion.

The terrain is also a tad flat for my test, perhaps doing the random terrain height then evening out, just leaving a bump here and there - Would make it less, constructed, if you know what I mean.

I hate my job but I do like one of my bosses, he does try really hard to get me what I need, and I want to make sure I leave with them comfortable with a new manager
  • Varine Varine:
I like my coworkers for the most part too as much as I bitch about them, they just aren't reliable. As kids tend to be, I was a shithead at 19 and 20 too I'm sure, so
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Good luck on getting things going.
  • Varine Varine:
Eh, it'll be fine, I got it mostly planned out already. Roommates know, boss will know in about an hour when I go to work, I'll have a plane booked once we decide my last day, and I have a place to stay up there lined up for two or three months
  • Varine Varine:
That all came together surprisingly easily
  • Varine Varine:
I think I'm going to give 4 weeks, so that'll give me 2 more full checks probably, and then one more coming after I leave.
    +1
  • Varine Varine:
All that shit came together really well suprisingly. My boss was upset cuz I am really good at my job suprisingly, but he's stoked that he got 4 weeks, plus one or two if he needs it, my flight's book in mid June, but I start my new job almost immediately so it'll be nice to have some time to chill and pack and get my rooms cleaned out. He actually gave me a dollar raise right after I gave notice to thank me for not being short or just leaving and making sure I can help interview and train someone to replace me. He is really cool, his food truck has just been a nightmare to run. I get my vaccine next week finally, allegedly Idaho will let me have my license back when I get there, and I have all my bills up to date so it should be an easy move this time around.
  • Varine Varine:
Is anyone else getting server timeouts in the chat? I think it's on my end, my wifi adapter has been acting up recently
  • Varine Varine:
100% my end, idk what it is though.
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
    Just woke up. No idea.
  • jonas jonas:
sounds great :) have fun in Idaho
  • The Helper The Helper:
    freaking Idaho
  • Varine Varine:
Yeah it sucks up there, but it'll be a bit easier for the summer probably.
  • The Helper The Helper:
When you get to Houston you will have your pick there is a huge shortage of good people to work in your field here. They are hiring everywhere and Texas is pretty much fully open.
  • The Helper The Helper:
for anyone else following this yes I am in Houston so Varine and I will RL meet gotta love it! Looking forward to it!
  • jonas jonas:
    awesome
  • Varine Varine:
I think I'll be back down here around August or September, probably, if not a bit sooner. I took my old job back for the summer, so it'll be a lot easier to save up a bit and have a bit of money to actually get situated again
  • Blackveiled Blackveiled:
Come visit me I live in La Porte and work in Baytown xD
  • The Helper The Helper:
I used to work in Baytown and commuted from North Houston every day. I freaking hated it the drive made me crazy. La Porte is a cool place I almost moved out close to NASA at one time and I have lots of friends who live out there.
  • The Helper The Helper:
we definitely need to get everyone who is in the general area together when Varine comes in
  • Varine Varine:
    THCon 2021
  • Blackveiled Blackveiled:
I'm down. I used to live closer to NASA, in Seabrook a few years ago, and also lived in Webster for a couple years. I lived in Baytown for a couple years and got out of there when I first came to Texas...I actually grew up in San Diego, California which is mainly where I lived when I found this site as a kid. I work out in the ExxonMobil Refinery in Baytown nowadays, which is why I commute out there.
  • Varine Varine:
Cool cool. Sorry I can't do it this summer. I actually started making a lot of money now that I'm already like, on a contract to work in north Idaho for the summer. I made like 200 dollars in tips tonight. Anyway, I'll probably try to make a trip in August or September, whenever it's appropriately slow enough for me to take a week off, to check it out a bit. I'll try to give you guys some decent heads up whenever I know for sure, or try to get whenever everyone else is also free.
  • The Helper The Helper:
glad to hear you making the money
  • Varine Varine:
Yeah it'll be nice when I move, I was pushing it pretty hard financially. Plus we're closing for the next couple days probably with the storms going on so it'll be nice to have a good few days on the next check.
