Updating DirectX?

So i found out from this site that my GPU only has DirectX 10.1 support.

Is it now useless to download the latest DirectX (11)?
Will I get nothing for it or will it still be beneficial for me?

my dxdiag says my directx version currently is 11

and i ran the web installer a while ago and it downloaded and updated with 42 mb of data though.

DirectX is backward compatible. The dxdiag showed is your software directx.

Direct X 11 comes with Windows 7 and you can add it to Vista with an update that was release after Vista SP2 - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971644

but you already seem to have it so I'm not sure what your question was

You won't get the affects of DX11 since your video card can only render DX10.1, but I doubt you'll see anything different if your video card did support DX11.

Also, you have DX11 but as kingking said, it's backwards compatable so you will get all the features of DX10.1 using DX11, and no more.
