If you have many things to deal with, i suggest you use Jass instead of GUI. Wait in Jass no need to be extra modified, juz write out Jass and it will automatically MUI.

this is the GUI way (an example):

Trigger:
  • trigger1
    • events
    • unit starts the effect of an ability
    • conditions
    • actions
      • if then else
        • if Integer less that 200
        • then
          • set Integer = Integer + 1
        • else
          • set Integer = 0
      • set Real[Integer] = 0.00
      • set Target[Integer] = target unit of ability being cast
      • set TargetPoint[Integer] = position of Target[Integer]
      • unit - set the custom value of Target[Integer] to Integer
      • unit group - add Target[Integer] to XGroup
      • set Target[Integer] = no unit

Trigger:
  • trigger2
    • events
    • every 0.25 seconds of game time
    • conditions
    • number of units in XGroup greater than 0
    • actions
    • unit group - pick every unit in XGroup and do actions
      • loop
        • set Value = custom vaue of picked unit
        • if then else
          • if Real[Value] less than 5.00
        • then
          • set Real[Value] = Real[Value] + 0.25
        • else
          • unit - move picked unit instantly to TargetPoint[Value]
          • unit group - remove picked unit from XGroup
          • call RemoveLocation(udg_TargetPoint[udg_Value])

so this is some sort of X Marks the Spot spell, it will move the target to his original position after 5 seconds

Only one trigger can be using custom values, or it will create bugs when using 2 triggers that uses custom values.

Can you please explain this a bit further? Only one trigger in your map can use custom values for units at a time? What kind of bugs are you talking about?

Like IE a trigger raises the custom value of a unit and then checks if the custom value is equal to 50. Then maybe another trigger lowers the custom value of the unit, causing it to not reach 50 = bug.

If that is the only thing that is buggy with it then it works just fine for the purpose mentioned in this thread. If you read the tutorial at that link I provided earlier you never change the custom value of any unit from what it was. You are only using the custom value as a reference and then when you are done with the dummy unit that you attached the custom value to you destroy the unit. I believe that if you read the tutorial all the way through you will understand that there is no bug with it.
