WET Map Server Suggestions

All I have done on the tutorial site lately is 'fix' tutorials.

I wanna work on the map server.

Give me any changes you'd like to see. Any features or sorting. Any visual changes. Anything about functionality.

Even if its already suggested or discussed before.

Lets hear from you.

On the list view allow sort by number of downloads, map name, and/or author. I suggest letting the user click on the title of the column to enable the sort by. Possibly top 10 lists such as top ten downloaded maps, top 10 most commented maps, top 10 map contributors. Enable a rating system.

Number of comments on the main list.
You don't really see that there is one unless you actually go looking for it.

(Optional) Number of downloads from the same IP address

Limit the text in length on the "short intro" textarea.

See, but if it can sort by most downloads, the top 10 is redundant....

True, but there are other types of top ten lists, like the ones TH suggested. A rating system would also be nice.

I intentionally skipped a rating system.

1. Not enough people leave comments now, let a lone a rating
2. Rating system is often inacurate, depending on how many ppl like you
3. Rating system is an easy way to downvote people you don't like, or a competitive map of the same type.
4. You have NO WAY of knowing if someone even played the map before clicking a rating.

Can I ? I couldn't get it to force a limit with HTML, so i used java.

Someone beat the java, so I have an internal truncator now too.

For mac users, if you could when you have a chance, fix the problem that when mac users click on the button "Download" it brings you to a page made up for symboles like "???€??‡€°?°€‡‚·‡·°‡·°‡°·?€‡‹„‡°™•™ª¡™¶§£¶•"

wierd symboles like that. I don't know the source of the problem, it happens on other websites too but rarely.

P.S: Won't mind if you say "Screw mac, most battle.net players are window users"
