Not sure if this is right place, apologies if it isn't

Got a strange problem

Just got some new bits together

Gigabyte K7 Triton 400 (GA-7VA)
Athlon 2400+
512MB DDR 333
Gainward GeForce 5600 128MB
Seagate 40GB
XP Pro

I can play Battlefield offline fine, the game loads and I can jolly about happlessly killin bots

I connect to the ASE load a server and it gets as far as the connecting to server part where the bar loads about 1cm then it goes to the Blue Screen with the general message :

Problem has been detected windows has been shut down.

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Tech Info

(Here it has loads of numbers)

ALCXSENS>SYS

Beginning dump of Physical Memory

Then I have to turn the PC off and restart it.

I downloaded the latest drivers which were 4403 for the GFX Card then un-installed it all and went back to the CD drivers thinking the problem may lie there, but I thought how come it plays offline ok

So I thought it could be my Modem it's a Supra Express 56i Pro as this had a problem on my old pc where it would disconnect from a BF Server after about 15 mins

So I replaced this Modem with a Rockwell and still the problem occurs and I'm gutted because I've finally got a PC again that can play BF

TIA

if it is your memory try shutting down some of the programs you dont use that may run in the backround also you can adjust the amount of space your harddrive uses for virtual memory because bf uses a lot of memory and 512 may not cut it. that is what i had 512 and i had to upgrade to 1 gig and now all is fine

have you downloaded all of the patches for battlefield? i had problems when i bought it but updated to all of the newest versions of the patches and it works good now. 512 megs of ram should be good enough to run the game on any system. and im sure it is.. wont get the best loading times or anything but it should run just fine.

Yeah i have the exact same problem and i have tried those MS RAM Diagnostics tools and it came up with no errors. I got my PC recently and havent had anything but problems, like not being able to install games but being able to install windows and drivers.

My specs are:

Gigabyte K7 Triton
Athlon XP 2800+
512 DDR 400
Geforce 4 Ti 128mb 4200
WinXP Pro

Our specs are very similar, maybe its our hardware :(
