Can i know how the attack speed is calculated?
Let said i have a base attack speed of 2.5
Then i pick up a item that add 500% attack speed.
How it is calculated?
2.5/5 = 0.5?
2.5/2/2/2/2/2 = 0.075

Um no, what this is is say you do 2.5 dmg per second, multiply that by 500% so you're doing 12.5 damage per second right now, which means you're probably hitting 5 times your normal rate.

2.5 attack speed base? lol or attack delay?

<default attack speed> * 5. = 12.5 (based on your 2.5 lol)

so yes, the unit now has 2.5 + 12.5 = 15 attack speed (if i'm not wrong)

i mean base attack speed is 2.5
meaning every 2.5 sec do 1 attack.
But if he get a 500% attack speed bonus
What will be the result??

Cannot be 12.5 what.... it should smaller rite???

The attack speed is calculated like this:

Code:
A - attack speed
N - New attack speed
X - % increased attack speed

[B]N = A*100/(X+100)[/B]
I tested it with gloves of speed and if I put 2 or more of them the formula is the same but the attack speed is summed

Code:
X1, X2 .. XN - % attack speed increase from Items 1,2 .. N
[B]X = X1 + X2 + X3 + X4 + .... + XN[/B]

Example:

Code:
A = 2.2 s, X = +100% (100% increase from 1 item)
N = 2.2*100/(100+100) = 2.2*100/200 = 1.1 s

A = 2.2 s, X1 = +100%, X2 = +50% (100% from item 1, 50% from item 2)
N = 2.2*100/(100+100+50) = 2.2*100/250 = 0.88 s

IMPORTANT: You must have in mind the fact that there is a +400% hardcoded cap on the attack speed increment.
Which means that the unit can have attack speed increase of max +400%. If the unit has +500% attack speed the game
automatically lowers it to +400%.

So basicly the formula becomes:

Code:
[B][COLOR="Blue"]N = A*100/(100+Min(X,400))[/COLOR][/B]

Example:
Code:
A = 2.2 s, X = +500%
N = 2.2*100/(100+Min(500,400)) = 2.2*100/(100+400) = 2.2*100/500 = 0.44 s

I believe there is a difference between the formulas for attack speed increase and decrease, but I'm not gonna go into that.

EDIT: The base attack speed of a ranged unit means the time from the moment the unit acquires its target to the moment
it fires it's projectile, and not the moment it hits its target. The projectile speed is not included in the attack speed.

Because you have to convert the divisor from % to ratio. That's why in the formula there is 100/(100+X).

And you must add 100 to X because it is +500% increased attack speed which means that the unit's attack speed becomes 600%
of it's original so you actually need to divide by 6 to get the real answer.

EDIT: +500% IAS is a bad example as you cannot go higher than +400% IAS in WC3. I mentioned that in my prev post.

+400 max bonus and 100 actual attack speed total 500%.

with bonus 0 you divide by 1 (100%) with bonus 100% by 2 with bonus 200 by 3 with bonus 400 by 5

you dont need any calculations this is constant formula.

No, eXirrah is correct, you need to use that formula...
And you're infact using that formula to calculate what you just did, but without mentioning it :p
He just printed out how you have to think ;)
