Ships
There are 10 different Boattypes of which each there are currently 3 versions ( most probably I'll soon upgrade it to 4 ). The versions differ in Price, Hp and 1 - 2 abilities.
The three different versions are unique themselves, but follow a global style:
1000 Gold ; 1200 Hitpoints ( +- 200 )
4000 Gold ; 3000 Hitpoints ( +- 700 )
7000 Gold ; 4000 Hitpoints ( +- 2000 )
Each Ship has 2 out of 4 standard skills, which are:
A Hitpoint Bonus
A Regeneration Bonus ( % )
A Speedbonus ( % )
A Flare
Each standard skill will have 6 levels and will have a level interval of 2; The other 3 abilities per ship will have 6 levels and a level interval of 3.
Trading
Trading will work different than usual though. Currently i'm planning to have multiple towns all arround the map.
Profit is made by buying ressources from oversaturated markets ( resulting in a low selling price ) and then sailing to the malsupplied towns where they can be sold for good money. A good cargo hold allows to carry lots of resources, which results in a higher possible profit ( 60 Kg just are worth 400% more than 20 kg - which means 400% more profit )
When ships with trade-resources are sunk, the close players will get a small bounty depending on the average price of the good.
Note: ALL SHIPS CAN TRADE. Traders just have both a high speed AND the best cargo hold, what allows them to be efficient on long routes as well as on short ones. There is one faster ship, though - the Cruiser class.
Also don't forget that some items have unecessary weight that Traders do not need to carry - whereas other ships have to. Thus a well armed battleship can at most carry a third of what an unarmed trader could.
Creeps
The Creeps will spawn in two lanes, as usual in this genre's maps. The creeps and the spawn interval, however, will differ from the norm:
15 There will be 3 high hp and damage creeps with a short range that have a small damage bonus versus ships and a malus versus buildings, so called "Assault Ships";
15 There will be 1 low hp and mediocre damage creeps with a mediocre range that are good versus buildings, so called "Frigates";
60 There will be 1 flying, high hp and high damage creep with a mediocre range that is good versus buildings, the so called "Aero Cruiser";
90 And one last creep with a lot of hp and damage and a decent range, the so called "Bombardier".
Creeps will upgrade in damage and hitpoints every 2 - 2:30 minutes, and whenever they're upgraded their bounty will be increased by a small percentage.
Weapons & Active skills
Weapons and active skills will be much stronger than in most battleships maps,
resulting in a faster and harder gameplay than in other maps of this style.
Only investing in Weapons will result in an early defeat, as the weapons of a 4k ship are better than those of a 1k ship, and the additional hp will do the rest.
Weapons are specific for each ship. BBs often have a high range and good damage bonus vs buildings. CRs have low range weapons that have an unusual high dps and can target enemy ships. SY ships have a low range, a really high damage per shot and a huge cooldown, resulting in one hit kills on all creeps, perhaps even on heroes when perfectly upgraded. The dps is really low though, thus it is harder for them to get a lot of gold via creep kills.
Weapons are upgradeable by items, increasing dps by either cooldown decreases or damage pshot increases.
The return value of an item is 80% of its cost. Trade items actually can have a higher return value, but only when you are a trader and have upgraded 'profit'.
Items
Currently I'm stuck with interesting items and only have the more typical battleships items in mind, like Repair Woods, Repair Crews, Sails, Hulls, Flares and Teleporters. The only additional items I currently have are explosives ( explode on death, dealing vast damage to all units in range ( allies and enemies ), a net and a few mines, which aren't that special either. So if you got any Ideas concerning items, feel free to post the here. If I use them in my map, I'll credit you for Item Ideas, and if they look to me as if you put effort into them ( whether I use them or not ), I'll atleast spend you a few rep points ; ).

GENERAL TERMS
PvB - Player versus Buildings, required for territorial advance.
PvE - Player versus Environment, aka Creeping. Main money supply for PvE based ships.
PvP - Player versus Player, the most difficult gameplay. Gives you lots of gold, but easy to loose here. Not recommended for most ships.
Trading - The art of buying / selling 'Tradeitems' in different ports in order to maximize profit.
Deff - Defence. Help from tanker ships, or ships that are good in PvP/PvE. Especially for weak specialists, that need deff in order to fulfill some task.
bb - Back to base! Run! SOS! The desperate cries from allies when they see you're dead in two seconds if you preceed with w/e you do.
tank - a unit that can endure lots of damage without dying. 'Eats damage'.
SHIPS
BB - Bombarder. High range, good in PvB, bad in PvE and PvP
BS - Battleship. Strongest ship in general PvE, good in PvP and a good tanker.
CI - Counter Intelligence. Strong against invisibility based ships, like the XO or the SY. Mediocre PvE and PvB.
CR - Cruiser. The cruiser is the strongest PvP ship, although it will loose against BS. Highest dps, low range.
Ok in PvE, useless in PvB. Skills are used to engage enemies within no time, allowing CRs to intercept ships that were isolated from the fleet, perhaps by the use of BBs or ELs.
EL - Elemental ship. Skill and ability based ship, good in PvE and PvP.
SU - Supporter. Supports allied ships with +damage, -cooldown, and defensive auras. Good in PvE, bad in everything else.
XO - Secret operator. Can attack while invisible, thus good in special situations. No PvB attack, good in PvE and PvP - unless detected.
SY - Spyship. Strongest ship in PvP in some situations, weak in PvE or PvP. Can turn invisible, though that will block attacks. Often used as spotter in order to spot other SYs and CRs before they can engage other ships.
EG - Engineer. Repairs buildings and units. Can create small ships to support them in combat. Good in PvE, bad in PvP. Can construct mines that can be used against Towers, hence ok in PvB.
TR - Trader. The best ship for trading due to high cargo and max speed. Easily spotted by SYs, easily killed by CRs. No weapons, hence needs deff in order to survive.
THE TANKS
BS, CI, EL
THE SPECIALISTS
As these ships can do things others can't, they are perfect for some special tasks, like killing a single enemy, or destroying some defence system - but dead as soon as seen somewhere. As tank, it is your job to deff them.
TR, SY, SU, BB, XO, some EL.
