Just saw it on DVD. Has anyone else seen it?​

It is awesome.​

Without spoiling anything, this movie is not what you expect. You'll go in at the start thinking it's one thing, but when you reach the end, you'll just be like, "wow". Probably the best "horror" film I've seen this year, though I will be watching Sinister this week so we'll see how that plays out.​

I highly recommend this film to everyone. I can't really review this because there's not much to say about it except to see it yourself and judge it yourself.​

I can understand that, not everyone's gonna like this movie. You either get it or you don't. I wouldn't say the plot's hideous but you have to understand what the makers of the movie are doing.

This movie isn't a true "horror" movie so if you take it for that, you'll think it's lame. It's basically a comedy, it's mocking the genre and the viewers. If you weren't laughing throughout the movie, then you're reading it wrong.

But you shouldn't have read the wiki! Why would you ever read the plot to a film before seeing it, especially since the whole premise of this film was that it has a twist. But yeah, I recommend seeing it yourself. Reading it won't do it justice, you have to see it with your own eyes.

For me at least, it's just something interesting and refreshing.

I knew all that. It was on top of my holiday movie list, but things came up and I lost my chance. The twist is pretty expected too, since the whole movie is too cliche horror to have any sensible plotline to it.

But yeah, I recommend seeing it yourself. Reading it won't do it justice, you have to see it with your own eyes.

Agreed. This is the same reasoning I used when I opted to watch Twilight (and also read the books).

If the twist is expected, then you sir must be a genius

The movie being too cliche horror, that's the whole point. It's a comedy, it blatantly uses those cliches on purpose.
How many movies actually have this concept? There are a few out there, not necessarily horror, but it brings something unique rather than the usual slasher/monster flick.

Kaerf not sure why you're so opposed to this ha. It's a fun movie.

There isn't any much twist at all imo. It's just a movie with a different approach. Then again, it's a great attempt to make a potentially cliche movie into a potentially non-cliche one. Nice movie. Recommended for a watch.

Yeah, loved all the monsters. Not a twist in like, it's plot-twist, it's just something interesting with saying how the horror movies in our world are for that purpose. Hellraiser, Pennywise from It, the family from The Strangers, Cyclops, apparently the Tank and Witch from Left 4 Dead, and so much more ha.

Sinister.

Saw that in theaters opening day. Nothing too special but compared to other horror in recent years, it's pretty good. I enjoyed it, had a few scares (3 shockers for me, I count), and it also has like an interesting story behind it. Nothing as crazy as Cabin in the Woods but it's still neat. A nice, small horror movie - no crazy sets/effects, no lame slasher stuff, just some entertaining acting and writing.
