Worth $40? yes.

Notthe best game ever (you ay disagree), but its fun to play, and you don't have to worry about a monthly fee.

Same, but the level 20 cap sucks xD
i like the level 20 cap, its gets you into PvP faster which was by far the best part of the game.

I heard good things about Guild Wars... is it worth buying? Or does Blizzard games like WoW and WC3 still reign supreme :)

guild wars is a very good option next to WoW since it has no monthly fee and i guess in my opinion that GW sounds like a good game but im sure there are a lot of people who would disagree w/ me

go to gamespot and look at the reviews and see for urself

as for me im still trying to decide...lol

does low detail still maintain some of the graphic's good quality?
does it run smoothly on low detail ? or is it choppy and laggy?

i really don't like the game nearly as much without full detail as i do with full detail.

I can play it with my GeForce 5500FX...all settings are maxxed, except anti-aliasing (which is on 2x), and water reflections on default.

It's an excellent game, but I've pretty much quit it now. My guild was full of a bunch of adult hippies who enjoyed chatting about meeting each other, getting drunk...sleeping together, was real annoying.

Am I getting Factions? No. I'm done with GW, and I hear Factions's storyline isn't as good.

I don't like the idea of a stand-alone expansion. We all know Faction's players will be 70% newcomer, 30% veteran...
---
Two of my PvE characters beat the entire storyline, my third one made it to the Northern Shiverpeaks before I quit.

I have two issues to correct, although I can see how someone might be confused. ;)

1. Factions can act as a stand alone game, or combine with the original chapter. In fact, you can travel between both chapter one and two if you own both games, and there are even quests in the chapter one map which are made available to chapter two professions. To say that Factions is a stand alone game is simply half true.

2. PvE is light in Guild Wars. The reason why it's light is that the real game begins with PvP. If you're in a guild where your team does not like to PvP, then you are probably in the wrong guild (nevermind the whole sleeping around issue). If you view PvE in this way, then it makes a lot of sense that all the skills are balanced, and that the weapons do not make such a huge difference in the overall gameplay.

I hope this information helps some :)
