How many girls out there who never cares about their beauty on the outside?

Due to the <those generally rated as For All, E for everyone, etc.> Japanese mangas with simple love stories, I noticed a lot of Japanese manga artist loved to draw girls with a very gentle, adorable attitude. (I don't know how to describe it, just see the characters as "cute").

Eventually, I got curious and asked a Taiwanese college manga artistic student, studying in National Taiwan University, about why they draw them girls like that.

She told me it is a way to express the cuteness within girls, mature or teen or young. It doesn't have to have lots of or a little bit of makeup on the face. Just being a girl with nothing on is what Japanese artists loved. She also told me that she had seen lots of girls with weird hairdos, zigzag hairlines, makeup, and more recently on Halloween, dressed up as their favorite manga character. She hardly had seen a girl without any of those.

Due to the rarity, I did a poll at my school this Friday, and most of them said they had never seen a girl who doesn't care about their beauty (on the face).

Now, if Japanese girls are like that, then I should at least see some girls in America or England with lots of makeups, most likely seen as a rock and roll pop star. They're kinda creepy to look at.

So, out there, who doesn't care about their beauty on the outside? That, and including those without makeups.

I think a girl who doesnt care about her beauty isnt a real girl ^^. Even in very poor countrys they try to look as good as possible. Who doesnt? I do.

There are some things women keep doing, one of them is caring about their "beauty" (as far as you can call it beauty in some cases)

Just like women keep asking you what you're thinking about and or they look at. You'll have a hard time finding one that doesnt do that I think.

You'd be surprised.

I mean sure, girls wont choose someone ugly with a nice personality, but they will choose someone decent looking with a good personality over someone really good looking with a bad personality.

I have a few girls in my school who don't seem to care about their appearance, but I don't think they'd be any more attractive even if they tried, so that's probably why.

This thread points to those type of girls. Who are they? Why be in secret? Those are something I wished I could understand. Some said that they are lazy. Others said they are just not up to it. And so on...

Trust me, EVERYONE cares about their appearance. Even if just barely, you still do.

Now, theres a difference between "not caring about appearance", and "not getting 'done'(makeup, 3 hour hairdo, ect) every time you go out". Girls that have to get prettied up every time they go out normally have self image problems, the ones that can go to a friends house or a boyfriends house without spending hours getting ready are pretty secure in their life.

As DDRtists said, everyone cares. The fact that they might not do something about it, differs though.

At a young age, you aren't looking for your soulmate, or your life long partner (maybe some do), it's just about fun, that usually personality matters not as much. It's true, when you look at a girl, you more or less have an idea of "I could go out with her" depending on how she looks. Actually trying to go out with her might depend on her personality.

I know girls who are more casual about their appearance, but even the more "homely" girls care about their appearance. It doesn't matter if you're a porn star or the hunchback of notre dame - you should want to feel good about yourself and get others to respect your looks as well, at least, as far as you can push that.

I had a classmate, she doesn't seems to be like other girls having someone to talk to. I like it that way, it seems special to me.

Another thing that matters is why they care. As in, do they do it for others? Their boyfriend? 'Competition'/To be better than other girls? Or for themselves to look pretty?

Some girls could use a little fixing here and there (at least do their hair) or makeup, and others over do it. I don't mind, as long as they look alright (not too nasty), and that they do it for themselves (or me )

Personally i'd prefer if they just tidied up there hair and not go overboard with there make up.

It's a fact, most couples start out as a physical attraction. Then they start to talk, they either hit it off, or they don't. In highschool, very very few couples end up staying together, it's more or less for fun ( or now a days, sex, sadly ).

As for the "Why do the do it?", if it's to be superficial then it's the wrong reason. You should want to feel good about yourself the way you normally are, not after hours of makeup and hair. Girls that are like that, normally have a bad self image or a bad home front. Girls that have the "Unless we're going somewhere nice ( IE the movies or dinner ), I can just throw on some causal clothing and head over to your house for some dinner and video games ( or whatever it may be you two do together ), normally have a much more upbeat idea on themselves, and don't need to be fake to get people to like them.

As for me, I do enjoy looking good. But I do it for me, I buy things for me based on what I like, and if someone doesn't like the way I look/dress/act/ect, they're not right to be in my life. This goes for both friends and relationships. If the person really likes you, they will accept you for how you feel most comfortable. There are times when it's nice to get dressed up and go somewhere, but no need every time.

a) homeless
b) loners
c) pretty without anything added on

most other girls I believe care, if even just a little, about their looks.

Have anyone of you noticed that girls who truly loved to be beautiful usually spends most of a day's time using a mirror?

In my class, about the total of 34 girls out of 58 classmates, use their mirrors during class, during class breaks, during lunch, during PE, during a test, and during on the bus...the list goes on if you put it for a week...

It's annoying whenever they put it out and the bright sunlight keeps flashing over my eyes in a 360 degrees sphere...I sit in between 8 girls in a circle.
