I can probably tell why some people are frustrated about FedEx/UPS/DHL package deliveries

It's because the packages are delivered to the shipping address much earlier than expected. This can lead to delivery/shipping exceptions when the recipients are not at home or not available during business days.

In my case, the delivery estimation time, according to the FedEx tracking number, is scheduled to arrive at my home at 8:00pm. What actually happen is that the delivery time is at 3:10pm, with the doorbell ringing and all that is normally done by procedures and protocols.

I know that important packages delivered earlier is better overall, there needs to be something that tells the recipients that the overall misconceptions that the delivery did not arrive on time is incorrect. The package did arrived, just 5 hours sooner than one were to estimate.

Of course, estimation time is not accurate, since it has a margin of error of in between 12 hours early or late. So, what can you do other than to wait for the doorbell to ring, or wait outside on the front porch?

I dont think they can estimate that down to the hour. There are too many variables like traffic, or maybe the delivery guy not finding your house or something like that.
I would guess the real reason people dislike the delivery companies is because some of them treat your packages like shit. Throwing them around, not being careful at all. In the end you get a package full of damaged goods.

Just curious, where did it say 8pm? I have never seen that before, I always get "by 8pm" or "by end of day", as opposed to a fixed time - and unless it requires a signature ($$), they will usually just leave it somewhere (unless you are in a bad neighborhood, in which case you have other issues). If it does need a signature, you can anticipate it and leave one on your door/etc. for X package, or have them hold it in a local store and pick it up from there

When Dell is shipping my laptop back to me (the recipient), I receive a tracking number tag from them. Entering the tracking number on the FedEx tracking page, I get an estimated arrival time at 8:00pm.

Package actually arrived at my house at 3:10pm. And that's it.
