if one trigger has the same event 3 times, will it trigger 3 times?

Also, another smalle question: If I add to a trigger the event "unitvariable_1 dies", but unitvariable_1 isn't defined yet, will it cause crashes or something? What if during the game, with triggers, i set unitvariable_1 to different units? will the trigger know that the unit that is supposed to trigger the trigger changed, or will it always use the first unit declared in unitvariable_1 ?

Yes for question #1

No to trigger event crashing.

If you changed the variable, the old event still takes the first declaration, hence you need to add an another event to the trigger after your new declaration

There's an event (in GUI) called Unit - Specific Unit Event (As cleeezzz said) where it say:
Unit Dies

And the part part can only be changed to variables, or pre-placed units

yea that's the event i'm talking about. last time i used that event in GUI it would only let me select preplaced units. obviously it has been changed over the last several years if you all say you can use variables now

Trigger - Add Event

Try looking at that in your trigger editor, You can add a Specific Unit Event using this action to another trigger.
You could add a:
unitVariable dies
via this action.
