Don't try to get complicated, really.

Just take a second to look at every problem you do. The trick is to simplify, making it a lot easier and taking out a lot of steps.

3*sqrt(1/9)

Now, what's the square root of 1/9? If you can't solve this intuitively, before going onto more complicated methods there are other ways to chop this up. sqrt(1/9) is the same as sqrt(1)/sqrt(9). sqrt(1) is 1 and sqrt(9) is 3. So the square root of 1/9 is 1/3. 1/3 multiplied by 3 is 1.
