Moving to 1v1

When I played wc3 melee, the only thing i played was team games. BECAUSE I WAS A TOTAL BALLER!

But seriously, I want to get into 1v1s and do more with that; I still only play team games on SC2 and I have yet to do my placement matches for 1v1. But I feel really scared about it, and I just recently watched Day9 Daily 269.

What im asking is for maybe someone to buddy up with me on battle.net and help me through my journey.
