Permanent Floating Text

Since floating text leaks, how should one approach the idea of permanent floating text to label areas of a map? Just a refresh every so many seconds?

It's not a leak unless you create it and lose all references to it, but want it destroyed. If it's supposed to be permanent, there's no problem with doing this.

Just remember that there's a hard limit of how many floating texts you can have on the map at any one time, I don't remember the exact number.

Where can I find that limit? I'm wanting 20-30.

According to someone else, it's 100. It sounds about right to me.
