32 units is the same as the side length of a box in the small grid in the world editor. It has nothing to do with pixels.

That's not a pixel, actually it's the average of a footman weight / average of a ghoul size * cos(Pi/2).
You can see the cells when you set up the grid as small as you can in the editor.
