It's kind of a strange area of thought... pressure depends on the atmosphere, so chemical processes and the like that take place on earth are relatively easy to predict in terms of pressure. The hotter matter is, the larger its volume is right? Well, the core is made out of molten metal under immense pressure. If somehow the pressure on the core would lessen, wouldn't it expand and force the earth to blow up balloon-style?
But the atmosphere is the atmosphere of earth, which depends on the size of earth... or something. So essentially it's pretty much impossible for such a scenario to occur. The atmosphere would increase in size and hence counteract the expansion. Then you've got to bring gravity into it... best ask a Physics Professor or someone like that.
