I thought it was overkill and pointless at first, though together with wireless speakers, keyboards and mice (all of which are common), you could have your rig anywhere in the room, or in an entirely different room from your computer. The computer area will be quieter and more spacious. Quite awesome, I think.

I think those antennas are amplifiers.
The only thing what is missing is some kind of artfull disguise that looks like furniture =P
