Kevin said:Balance must be maintained for both players types, and everyone in between, which can be tricky. Ultimately, it’s going to take the game's harder difficulty modes -- Hell and Inferno -- to challenge the limits of the best Diablo III players.
From http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/events/diablo3-announcement/index.html#beta:d3-interview
aka a blizzard website, with an interview from a blizzard guy.
There are posts on the blizz forums about this too but no blue response yet, im assuming because its late and bashiok is done his work already. i'll update if there is a blue post sometime soon.
what do you think? Normal < Nightmare < Hell < Inferno sounds epic. hell was god damn hard in d2 so i wonder how this will be...
Another thing, does anybody know how difficulty modes work in this? is it like d2 where when you beat normal nightmare unlocks, or something different? cuz in d1 it went by difficulty (20 nightmare and 40 hell if i remember correctly, but i might be wrong)
