Obama's comment about small towns happens to be pretty close to the truth, though. I wouldn't hold it against him.

But the fact that he shouldn't have said it but did makes it stupid. \o_O/

I take offence to that... I don't cling to guns (though I might at some point) or religion (I just dislike peoples ignorance of religion), yet I live in a "small town"

Isn't it great when someone calls you ignorate or a red-neck? Just makes my day.

I don't recall the comment being aimed at you, so why would you be offended? Obviously he didn't mean that all residents of all small towns had this tendency. See the comment as a "birds can fly" type thing.

The comment not being directed at him isn't the point. He said it in a way that was pretty broad and could understandably be interpreted as a generalized statement. And it was kind of a rude thing to say.

Basically, we were screwed either way. Obama wasn't my first choice, but I'll be damned if I risk Palin being president.

You can bet your ass next year I will be voting against her. Satan himself could run against her, I will STILL vote against that woman. From what I saw of her, she didn't seem to know what she was talking about at all.

Actually, I would think that Satan would be quite more usefull to world politics then Palin. Satan can't mess up nearly as bad as she would.

Didn't he get his lead when McCain said that the US had a good economy and everything crashed the same day? :p

I wanted to hear a "Allah bless you" instead of "God bless you" in the end of his speech. Too bad.

Obama is a Christian.

And now these guys are soon to be the leaders of this country.. Ironic, ain't it?

Give me one President of the United States and his Vice-President who never said any misplaced thing and I'll agree with you.

And, I'm sorry but McCain had also his share of misplaced comments. Does that make it an "ironic" situation that he could've been president?

> Uh... is this sarcasm or a joke or am I not understanding it right?

Neither, I thought it was, did some researches, and it wasn't.

I am finding it more and more difficult to even speak to a Republican.
It is like an atheist trying to argue with an evangelical. We are speaking two different languages. Democrats favor science and reasonability. Republicans favor faith and stubborness. Now that Obama has won handidly, and America has spoken, the stubborness and disrespect of Republicans is even more outspoken. This is all Republicans have left to fall back on. So they will continue name calling and trashing of Obama regardless of the integrity of his policy. Deep down, I think most of them realize that their idealogy is wrong, but instead of admitting it, and holding themselves accountable for broken ideas, they defend it. It's kinda like when Palin defended that Russia's physical proximity to Alaska somehow broadens her foreign policy experience. She made a stupid statement, big deal, everyone does it. And I as a democrat would have admitted I mispoke. All she had to do was correct herself and admit that her argument was legitamently inaccurate, and America would have respected that. (unfortunately,in this example, Palin is so ignorant that she REALLY did believe this, but you can still understand the point I am making ) Instead she beat a dead horse. But once again, these are republicans we are talking about, and like I stated earlier in this thread, it seems only death will rid us of this mindset.

First off, I love how you generalize every republican in America this way.
Next, I love how much of a failure your democrat : atheist :: republican : evangelical analogy was.
Thirdly, I love how you somehow shoved science and reason in there and claimed that republicans "favor faith and stubbornness" as if it was relatable to science and "reasonability."
Fouthly, Obama won "handidly" because every minority in America gave almost all their votes to him. I think that about 99.8 percent of blacks voted for him. Lol.
Also, I don't understand how the Republicans can "fall back on disrespect." What does that even mean?

>Deep down, I think most of them realize that their idealogy is wrong

Like you realize that your entire post does not make any sense?

Also, your comment about Palin does not in any way tie in to republicans. It is not as if only republicans are incapable of admitting a mistake.

I'm a democrat by the way. Thank god that Obama won. I am finally somewhat happy to be an American. I just hate it when people senselessly insult opposing parties based on nothing at all.

I am not speaking for all Republicans, But I do believe I am certainly speaking for a majority. ie. A terrorist, a communist, an elitist, a socialist, an anti-american, a muslim, an affirmative actionist...........seems to me that the Republicans are the ones doing all the terrorizing. Think about all this real hard, and you might pick up on what i'm getting at.

btw. I believe my analogy is spot on.

"fall back on disrespect." What does that even mean?
dear god, do I really have to spell it out for you.

and Sarah Palin?..... I took the liberty of buying you a plane ticket back to Wasilla. Now go home and stare at Russia from your house. Hopefully for eternity.

btw. Do you always try to insult someone building from thier own lines?

I could go away and I would feel great joy in knowing that I have forced you to agree with me. But instead, I will stay with the knowledge that you are impressed with my argument.

Before speaking of great future, great democrats, and great ideals, let's first wait and see how they actually handle things.

You speak as if Obama had just saved you, the United States, and the world.

Maybe he will, most probably he will not. He's been elected President, but he can't clean up every single problem in one day.
