[General] Teen gets phonebook instead of PS3 in box

Apparently the Grinch hasn't just stolen Christmas; he's also stolen one boy's PS3. According to a story by Fox11 news of Thousand Oaks, California, the parents of a lucky 13 year-old decided to buy their son a PS3 with some sweet games. That's the good news.

The bad news is when he opened his PS3 box, he found a phonebook instead.

It was probably a return. Someone kept the PS3 and stuck a phonebook in the box and the people at the store did not check it and resold it. Explanation for one PS3 Phonebook. I read about them doing this with XBox 360s. Sometimes they would return just the case and take out all the insides and replace with phone book.

yea, like TH said i saw it done with a 360, the people are supposed to check the systems to see that this didn't happen but some people can get lazy. basically u strip the inside of everything, return (or resell) the now stuffed with shit case and buy a new case or jsut put it in a cardboard box, whatever u like.
