Well, that's kind of what I mean! I'm always on a team and (even though late game I end up pulling my income way up (just for it to stop because I'm getting items >_<)) early game my income will be really low because summons take all of the bounty and go buy items or just horde it/send creeps that don't get them maximum income.

Well you could make it appear after the mode choosing...

the guy would pick all the things and set bounty on/off, then, before the hero selection, a quick cinematic would say 'Use these houses to summon to the other side, use this spell vault to assist you, but they will give you NO EXPERIENCE, so you better use non-lethal magics. Finally, create your hero" or.. dunno AFTER the hero choosing and BEFORE the 'lane phase'

the items are pretty much what you said, almost no items until tier 4 or something, but there ARE those 1-hit-kill mobs so... I try to get a variety of defense items xD

And yes, my play style is just like yours, pick an INT hero, for my purposes... I have a lot of fun with Chain Lightning/Forked Lightning+magic mastery...
Speaking about it, I tried using it with other nukes, such as FROST NOVA and FREEZING SPIRES(spines...) and... they don't work too well... frost nova seems to multicast, but I don't know if the nova damage is being multiplied... and freezing spires doesn't throw another wave of ice on the target location :(
Shockwave worked fine, i've seen it... Fan of knives seem a bit odd, but I didn't fully test it... I think it works though :D

As I really like the map, I always think about new ways to play it, how to improve gameplay~
I'd like to play CHLW, for example, in shorter lanes, 2x2x2x2, or maybe with creeps coming from both sides (left/right), to stimulate team work~

Well, nevermind these ideas if you don't think they'll work~and~
Feel proud as I'm spreading the map through my Garena room xD
I always host x4's and at least 4 players download the map :p(1 rage quits, and 3 like it)

edit: heeeeey I thought of something right now~ could you put some kind of lightning rod in the game xD? I think those things are rad, and since we have a web ward~ why not a thunder ward :D? xD

ahhhhh when i download the new maps (1.6c) i cant get it to show up , at all , not even when i go in and check the files but when i try to download it again it says the map is there anyone know whats going on?
 
Hey guys, sorry for the late reply, I was on a road trip for the last few days and only just got back!

As long as you summon properly it shouldn't be that much of an issue..... I dunno, when you summon every creep gives you the income growth rate ie 20%
so as long as they summon, it should be fine. But then I guess if you also summon consistently it should be fine too :p

With Magic Mastery, every spell in there will multi-cast, it's just that some spells which require a unit target will fail if the original target dies, because there is no longer a target to be cast on. Also if I remember correctly there was an issue with Freezing Spires not damaging properly on multi-cast.

I was looking to change up the lane design a while ago, but never got around to it, since I didn't really find a design I really liked...

Lightning Rods would be the same as Serpent Wards? What extra effect would they have?

You need TFT to play, if it's not that, I heard that there's something to do with file name length or some what not.. But other people seem to play just fine, so I'm not too sure what's up with that. =S

take out chain lightning and put a chain lightning rod, at max level it would cast 3~4 chain lightnings(of course with reduced damage) and work the same as web ward(auto-cast, same cooldown~)
because... frankly, chain lightning is worse than forked lightning, since you have to wait until it reaches the last target to use again, also the damage per creep drops~
but meh, you decide it xD

I've been experimenting lately... seems you really can't go on a melee build(non-caster) without critical and cleave, and, to survive later on, vampiric aura... since killmaim's(or the recipe's) won't do it~ So most of the times I end up like "oh... critical, vampiric, cleave... temporal armor..." and maybe some damage ult like avatar or ki ken tai no ichi~
I tried changing cleave with pyroblaze(item) but doesn't work because the price's too high xD
On a side note~ the new items can be further explored to create different items, since recipe shop 1 provides you with all the defense you need, maybe you could think of some nice attack items, not necessarily orb-effect ones ^^

I can fix that issue with chain lightning pretty easily, also it doesn't reduce damage with each bounce, it's constant damage.

Crit-Cleave is pretty staple for melee builds, but I don't think Vamp Aura is. Killmaim may not be as effective as Vamp Aura, but does more than enough to keep you alive, especially with it's low cost. Essence of the North is a pretty good substitute in my opinion, but since it's an orb, you'd have to take Vamp Aura or waste an item slot for Vamp Potions. Which reminds me, Vamp Potions will still work with an orb and give a lot more life steal than either Aura or Killmaim, for all those who don't know.

Hey, i just found this thread (finally). I played your map ever since 1.4 versions and really like them.

The only map i play on wc3 is Custom HLW and Custom HERO WARS.

So what i like with your map are the skills and all stuff you did, nothing wrong with anything. BUT! (there is always a BUT!) there are really some imbalance issues and stuff that kills the game. I have edited the map ( hope you dont mind ) but i never played it online with edited stuff, because i respect the credits and the map maker.

I would really like to help with ideas about what and whatnot but i dont really use MSN.

And what you should get, not being selfish now, is Xfire because most of the gamers have it and im sure that many people here also have it.

Hi Rhen, I have no problem with editing for personal use. There are a lot of edited versions out there already, so even if you were to release it, I don't think I would be too fussed about it, but thanks for the consideration anyway :)

If you have any ideas, suggestions, bug reports or whatever, just feel free to post it up on here. I prefer to get feedback from other players on new ideas or balance issues, just to measure whether something is a good change or not. So just let it all out :p

I don't have too much time to play games anymore these days, so MSN is enough, although I'm fairly sure you're correct with your comment about Xfire :rolleyes:

Just thought I'd let you in on a little secret, this map crashes (for all clients) more often than not when people start spawning tier 2 monsters, it has happened several times now the past few days and it has occured like 50% of the games that we played, here's a pic of what happens. http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/2507/namnlso.png
Any ideas? Does this happen to anybody else when playing this map?

Summoning Tier 2 monsters? In the years of my playing, CHLW has never crashed. And showing an image of a fatal error does nothing to help...

Complaining about it? No? Merely telling you that the information you submitted as a bug report is insufficient and that I've never had this problem in summoning Tier 2 monsters.
 
I don't think it's any secret for a map to crash? I don't know which maps you've played, but to ONLY have CHLW crash, I doubt. Not to say that CHLW has never crashed for me, but I've experienced a fair few with other maps.

If you could provide more details than a screen shot of the fatal error message such as, common conditions under said 50% of occurrences or even a suspected cause, then better action can be taken so that it doesn't happen again.

Thanks for thinking enough to report it though :)

You do that, but it's true, it is the only map that has crashed since I got my new computer a while ago, can't remember if any map crashed before that, though that is irrelevant anyhow.

Common conditions... Well, for starters, it has only happened in games when the other team is spamming chance stealers(from the second tier) for no apparent reason, or maybe it's just my blind hate for these and how stupidly easy they are to counter that makes me want to believe it's these creeps that cause it. But there are so many variables in play here it's hard to think of a cause to these crashes, might as well be a skill causing it.

Was that only in CHLW as well..? No? As I thought. Besides, I already have that set (well, it's actually Miles emulated 3D but whatever).

well... have you tried not hosting games and checking if every other gamer has the crash? because if the host crashes, you'll have a general disconnection, but if a normal gamer disconnects, it's fine...(and he quits)

Well, honestly under these circumstances, your guess is as good as mine. There aren't any triggers dealing with creep other than once they are summoned. So once creep are in the lane, they are essentially left to their own devices.

As far as it being an ability causing the crash, I've heard reports of Incinerate having something to do with it, but I've played a fair number of games where players have picked it and no crash has occurred.

Although I must say, a high number of crash reports say that they have occurred during tier 2 as well. So perhaps with your reported 50% crash rate you'll have better chances at tracking down the source than me, as I seem to be unable to replicate these reports.

I don't think it's Incinerate. Incinerate is a core part of one of my builds that I play and nothing has ever happened with Incinerate. And if Incinerate isn't triggered and nothing interacts with Incinerate in the triggers, then it's very very improbable that Incinerate causes the crash.
 
Well there you go one variable eliminated :p

But I wonder if you have the same issue with ranged units occasionally dealing no damage till within melee range?

Actually, I seemed to have something like that... On Burna Boy (the Incinerate build)... Whenever I shot at a creep, it seemed to do no damage until melee range. Then, when they get into melee range, they just go BOOM!.

Except, that's only in mid-late game creeps. Early game creeps seem to take damage fine.
