Yesterday, Pokémon writer Takeshi Shudo was rushed to the hospital after suffering a haemorrhage and collapsing at Nara Station. He has since passed away. Shudo was 61 years old.

Shudo created TV anime Fairy Princess Minky Momo and worked on various anime through the ’80s and ’90s. He became the chief writer for the original Pokémon television series and went on to write the first three Pocket Monsters feature films.

that's quite a vague explanation.. did he have a disease?

The main article is in Japanese, and the google translate or any online translator makes it really cryptic.

Now I know why the Pokemon storylines have sucked since the first series ended.

That's because he only wrote the indigo league and parts of the orange league, the rest was written by other writers. He will be miss
