If I make a board game, it will be Go. Best game ever. Rules are extremely complex, so if I do make it, I'm testing it with the judges to teach them during it.

It isn`t really a game, it`s just a board that uses a magnet to spell out letters.

I was gonna stick in some basic AI and add a feature for one person to control both players, so that one person could test the game.

Not really, it would be better to make the board up in smaller parts.

> This seems more like a spinner then a dice roll to me, actually.
Whatever it might be like, it gives a random number between 1-6 in an interesting way, in Warcraft 3. That's all that was needed.

Does the map have to visually resemble the board game? Can you have it work exactly like the board game "behind the scenes" and display it differently? An example would be like... let's say a card game like War. Instead of displaying the number and suit of the card you could have a Barracks building and "behind the scenes" you are keeping track of a deck of 52 cards but you display it to the user as a unit trained from the barrack like a child for 2, villager for 3, peasant for 4, militia for 5, footman for 6, etc... and then who ever has the stronger unit wins that round. So it really would not look like a card game to the user but it would play out exactly the same.

I'm already done finishing the map, I'll just add an extras for fun. And I'm not gonna submit the map so early! Some players may have ideas on it.

Good luck on other players who will join :p

So, whos going to be testing with WastedSurivor? Most of these games require at least 2+ people.
I will be testing all the games myself, if it requires multiple people i will invite guest judges to help me test it online.

Because of the nature of the contest, we could have anywhere from 1 player games to 8 player games. So the guest judges will not grading the maps themselves. However, they will be encouraged to discuss the game as we play it.

Does the map have to visually resemble the board game? No.
Would it be better if it did? Yes.

Suppose two people made this game. One user submitted a map like you described, and another went the extra mile and found or made simple models to go with their map. Disregarding all the other judging criteria, the one that followed the game more closely would probably score higher.

Fortunately there are other criteria, and while you wont be condemned for not visually resembling the board game, it certainly wouldn't hurt to try.

Hope that resolves your question, if not feel free to PM me and we can discuss it.

I want to do chess, But only if I can find some models or someone that is willing to model. I am assuming if i find models that are already done that its allowed to import, I cant find very much yet...

Anyone want to do some chess pieces and join me?

It appears I could rip the models out of peppers chess. But I figure thats not allowed. If I contact him and he says its cool Is that allowed?

no prior work will be accepted.

That includes Models?
